Social media was a hot topic during day two of the Jo’burg Radio Days conference. The use of Twitter, Facebook and other social media platforms was viewed with suspicion by some, and embraced by others in the radio community. Claire Wardle, director of news services at Storyful.com, was able to give practical and exciting examples of using Facebook and Twitter to create radio content during her afternoon session. This was especially helpful for the radio veterans who have found the rise of social media overwhelming.
